I haven’t been posting for a few weeks because I have been on holiday… but I’m back and I’m bringing you a makeup haul! If you remember my UK Haul from 2016 you’ll know that I love to do a good makeup haul when I go overseas. Find out where I’ve been and what goodies I have got myself this time round!
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder – I’ve had my last pot for around 10 months, and it’s almost gone, just in time for the 12 month use by date, so it’s perfect timing for a replacement.
Much like the setting powder, I am running low on my Benefit Porefessional 44ml, and I have been using it for around 10 months, so a replacement was needed.
I have been using Beauty Blenders quite a lot in the past year, but I was a huge fan of the Real Techniques sponge before I had tried Beauty Blenders. In New Zealand both of these sponges can be quite pricey, with the RT sponge costing $19.99 for one, or $35.99 for two. I could not pass up on this four pack of Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponges from Boots for £17.99 (roughly $32!).
Much like the All Nighter spray, the Urban Decay Chill is a setting spray. It definitely feels cool when you first spray it on, and has a slight scent to it, but otherwise I couldn’t tell the difference. I was running low on my All Nighter spray, so this is a replacement for it.
The Too Faced Hangover Primer is one of those products I’ve always wanted to try but as it’s not in the shops over here, it can easily slip my mind. I finally got my hands on this little beauty, and it has been working wonders on my tired jet lagged skin!
I had been planning to buy the MAC Strobe Cream in Peachlite here in NZ, where it retails for $70. It’s £25 in MAC UK but I got this in duty free for £18 (roughly $32)… bargain!
A broken spoolie ended up in my online order of the Makeup Geek Dual Ended Brow Brush and an impulse buy of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. I’ve heard so many good things about this brow pencil, and as my Benefit pencil had run out, I was excited to finally try this one.
If you didn’t already know, Real Techniques were the gateway into my makeup brush obsession. So when they brought out the Multi-Tech collection I always knew I would have to get one. I picked up this Real Techniques Multi Tech Point L Brush in Superdrug for£11.99 (roughly $21). Of course, being from Real Techniques, this is a very original brush design.
MAC have released 6 fragrances inspired by six of their cult-favourite lipsticks. In turn they have released these 6 lipsticks in limited edition packaging, called Shadescents. I bought the shade Heroine. With my new hair colour I’ve been pushing myself to go outside of my comfort zone with my lip choices, so this was the perfect shade for me.
I intend on doing a full review on this BH Cosmetics Spotlight Highlight Palette. I actually haven’t really used it yet to give you an overview either. I’ve been looking for a great varied highlight palette for my kit, and have heard good things about this one. Watch this space.
If I had to choose just one product from this entire makeup haul as my favourite, it would be this Benefit Cheek Parade Palette. I plan to do a full review on this, so I won’t go into too much detail… but it was another great price! Individual powders were £25, and this palette was £48 (roughly $85) for all 5!
I fell in love with theUrban Decay Full Spectrum eyeshadow palette the moment I laid my eyes on it. So many beautiful colours for my kit. I will do a full review post in the near future. Of course this baby was another bargain; it was on sale in Debenhams for roughly 25, I can’t remember exactly (around $45)
I’ve never owned a MAC eyeshadow palette before… yes I know! So I’m always keeping my eyes peeled for a ‘must-have’ that’s worth the splurge. I came across this MAC Eye Set in John Lewis with the Extreme Dimension Mascara, Amber x 9 Eyeshadow Palette and a Paint Pot of your shade choice. In NZ the Mascara retails for $48, Amber x 9 retails for $80 and Paint Pots retail for $48; this whole set was £45 (roughly $79). Another brilliant bargain!
All in, I definitely splurged on makeup… a lot but when I do get to go overseas it is so easy to get carried away by the cheaper prices!
