Matte lipsticks are all the rage at the moment. I am totally caught up in that hype and I love wearing matte lipsticks. When I heard NZ owned Wendy Hill cosmetics had their own matte lipstick line, I jumped at the chance to try them. If you love matte lippies as well, keep reading!
Tiffany is the General Manager of Wendy Hill Cosmetics, and the Tiffany lipsticks are a line she introduced a few years ago. A wholly owned and operated New Zealand brand, the Tiffany lipsticks are a popular product from the Wendy Hill range.
If you aren’t familiar with Wendy Hill Cosmetics, you can read a previous post about some of their face products I tried here. While I have been very fortunate to be gifted these products, I am not being paid or sponsored. All of the opinions in my review are my own honest thoughts.
The Tiffany lipsticks come in 6 gorgeous shades. They are all in the red/pink family but still cover all of the looks from bold through to nude.
Play With Me – A brightened true red shade. You may be able to tell from the swatches, out of the 6, this was the least opaque with one coat. Once I removed the swatches from my arm, this stained my skin, so it does have some really long lasting pigment in there!
Shortcake – I love Shortcake! It’s a really bright and fun, almost pastel, peach shade. This looks great when I have more orange/peachy tones in the rest of my makeup.
Paso Doble – A gorgeous blue based red; I personally prefer this tone of red to others. This colour creates a very bold lip and goes well with almost any makeup. Perfect for that classic red lip look.
Shopaholic – A deep pink purple, this shade is a fun bold lip. A great shade to break away from the red lip.
Cloud 9 – A very girly baby pink. This colour is perfect for those with fair skin who want to add a pop of colour.
First Love – A personal favourite of mine. This gorgeous peachy nude looks great with almost any makeup look.

Wendy Hill have got the formula of these lipsticks so right. They are velvety and soft to apply, and are very comfortable to wear. I am very impressed by the pigment in these lipsticks, each swatch above is a single stoke.
I usually apply my lipstick first thing in the morning and then touch up after lunch. Occasionally I’ll touch up after dinner but only if I’m not doing my usual evening routine of pajamas and Netflix! These lipsticks held up very well, and lasted well throughout the day with my usual after meal touch ups.
While the finish of these aren’t as matte as you would get with a liquid lipstick, you also don’t get any drying or flaking that can come with liquid lips. I would say the finish and longevity is very comparable to the MAC Matte Lipsticks. I swatch them side by side in my video below.
