Wendy Hill Cosmetics are a wholly New Zealand owned and operated professional makeup company. Being new to the makeup artist industry, I am always on the lookout for new brands and products to try. Naturally I jumped at the chance to sample some Wendy Hill makeup products. I put them to the test and this week you can see what I think of this brand.
I discovered Wendy Hill when searching for a makeup artist chair. That’s right, they do not just sell makeup. They have many other professional photographic industry items. You can see the full product range here.
Velvet Veil Primer – $62.30
Wendy Hill describe this as one of their most versatile and popular products. This primer is quite a thin gel consistency. While the product itself is clear it also has some light reflecting flecks through it. A little goes a long way and I can do my whole face with one drop of this primer.
I love the way this primer feels on my skin, so soft and smooth. It is also very brightening, which is a finsih I love at the moment!
Jojoba Liquid Foundation – $66.95
The shade selection here is great, as you can see there are a variety of tones as well as shades. They are a water based formula that offers a very thin texture which mix easily to adjust the shade.
The coverage of these foundations is light to medium. I found them extremely blendable and buildable without getting cakey. The finish is satin and looks very natural on the skin. They definitely apply flawlessly on top of the primer.
If you are looking for a high coverage, I would recommend colour correcting before applying. For me, adding concealer gave enough coverage.
The colour I used was Creme Beige. I have compared it to some other popular foundation shades I wear for reference.

Candle Light Glow Highlighters – $43.50
These highlighters are absolutely gorgeous. They come in a similar consistency to the foundations. The shades are Pearly Pink, Bronze and Gold. I have swatched them below, as a finger swipe and partially blended in so you can see the finish.
I have applied them directly onto my skin to the high points of my face and it works great. You can also mix a fee drops into your foundation. I have tried this out and it gives such a stunning strobe finish to the skin. I highly recommend this for an all over brightening effect.
