L’Oréal have recently launched the new Infaillible Total Cover full coverage longwear concealer palette. I think this gorgeous kit is perfect for those who want to step up their concealer game. Colour correcting your skin can make a striking difference to a finished makeup look. As soon as this palette hit the shelf I went out and bought it!
I already have a large collection of LA Girl Pro Conceals in my MUA kit. Those concealers are fab for contouring and colour correcting, and I love using them on clients. The liquid consistency means you have to spend some time applying and blending and it makes for a flawless base. However for me this is not an every day step in my makeup routine, because I’m usually in a hurry!
What I love about the L’Oréal concealer palette is it does allow for a quick and easy application. Being a cream formula means you can pick up some product on your finger and dab into the areas you need.
The back of the palette shows really simple instructions on what each colour is for. The green shade ‘neutralises redness’. I dot this around the base my nose and any areas I have redness because of a brewing pimple. It is also a great way to cover up red noses and foreheads if you have caught too much sun!
The purple shade ‘corrects discolouration and brightens’. On a colour wheel this kind of purple is opposite the green yellow shades. This is how it can correct and brighten dull looking skin with yellow undertones. I apply this colour on my forehead and the bridge of my nose to brighten.
You then have a beige trio, these also each have great properties. Again referring to the colour wheel, yellow and orange sit opposite purple. I love using these shades to neutralise the dark circles under my eyes. Another great way to use the Beige Trio is to lightly contour.
I am really happy with this palette and I have been using it daily since buying it. Personally I use it on top of my primer and under my foundation to correct my base. If I want to conceal anymore on top of foundation, I tend to go for a liquid concealer.
I bought my palette at a Unichem Pharmacy, but I can’t find a link on their website. You can also buy this from Farmers for $29.99 (NZD). I am going to give away this palette to one of my lucky followers! Details at the end of this post!
