I have recently returned from a trip back to the UK; for those that don’t know, I live in New Zealand but visited my hometown in England for my sisters wedding. While I was there, I took the opportunity to do a bit of makeup shopping. This is my Makeup Haul.
One of the main reasons I started this blog is because I wanted people to be able to make more informed purchases when it comes to makeup, especially because here in New Zealand a lot of makeup shopping is done online. So it was a real treat to be able to go into the shops, see, touch and swatch the makeup I can’t usually get!
I’m a big fan of Real Techniques brushes (see my collection here!) and since the Bold Metals collection was launched I’ve been eager to get my hands on them. They are essentially the new luxury brushes from Real Techniques, but at double the price of the original range, I have been a little reluctant to spend. However, when I saw them in Boots, I was in full spend mode, so I decided to go for it!
NARS feels very high-end, so does the price tag. The packaging and their colour ranges are gorgeous. I went for some ‘cult-classics’ to see if they were worth the hype; Laguna bronzer and Orgasm blush.
At the UD counter in Debenhams the lovely sales girl got me looking at the XX Vice Ltd Reloaded palette; I’m not usually an easy sales target, but I was so excited at the idea of a limited edition anniversary palette with a mix of new shades and favourites over the years, I didn’t resist. It’s also a nice break from my neutral palette obsession!
I also got a travel size Roller Lash mascara to try, as I’d heard good things about it. A real impulse buy was the pencil sharpener, simply because I needed one and this looked so cute! Sometimes makeup brands mark up the price of tools, simply because they have branded it, but this sharper was super affordable.
I finally bought a product from Benefit’s new release brow range, I decided to go for the Precisely, My Brow because I’m lacking a brow pencil in my collection, and this one has a very fine nib and a spoolie on the other end.
I don’t know much about the brand The Balm, but always hear lots about the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter. Debenhams stocks The Balm so I picked it up! It has super cute packaging, and swatches amazingly.
I have done so much research to try and find the perfect setting powder. The Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder always seemed to come up. So I already new I wanted to get this before I left for my holiday.
I have a post on the Zoeva Makeup Tote, the makeup bag I used for my trip. It’s my pleasure to report it is fabulous at containing all of my makeup, including all of my new products.

This is the most new makeup I have bought in such a short space of time, so I am a little overwhelmed with everything! I am looking forward to doing some reviews on these products once I’ve formed a solid opinion. Let me know if there is anything here you’d like to see reviewed first.
