Whether you need a quick post gym beauty regime, you’re a busy mum who needs something quick to fit in their schedule, or you want to have a full makeup kit in your handbag at all times, this 10 minute routine is for you.
This whole video is continuous, with nothing cut out, the sections of video which have been sped up, the time speeds up at the same rate:
When choosing which products to put in my makeup bag, my selection criteria was; compact in size, easy to apply and minimal tools required, all while being good quality. Also I tried to choose products that were in the more affordable price range, because when I’m carrying them around in my makeup bag there is a higher risk of me dropping or breaking them.
I have linked all the exact products and brushes I used, although you can easily switch these out for an alternative brand that you prefer.
All prices in NZ dollars:
Benefit Boing Concealer $38 – Smith & Caugheys, Sephora
To colour correct my dark circles I used Benefit Boing concealer, which I can pat in with my finger. Benefit isn’t the cheapest out there, I know that NYX have a colour correcting palette; but this one is a small pot that easily slips in the bag. If you don’t suffer from dark circles or if use a concealer with better coverage after the foundation then you could skip this step all together.
L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation $35.99 – Farmers
This foundation is great because it is applied and blended at the same time with the sponge included. Plus there is a mirror so you can easily use it on the go! More brands are bringing out cushion foundations now, so it doesn’t have to be this one.
Rimmel Wake me Up Concealer $18.99 – Farmers
This concealer comes with an applicator in it’s lid, it’s very brightening, but for me not the best coverage, which is why I colour correct. A good alternative would be the Collection concealer you can get at Countdown for $15.
NYX Blotting Powder $21.45 – Farmers
I used this to set my foundation and concealer, it comes with a puff, so you don’t need any other tools to apply. As the name suggests, this is supposed to be a blotting powder for oily skin, but works well as a setting powder, just be sure to dust off any excess or fallout.
Rimmel London Sculpting Palette by Kate Moss $20.99 – Farmers
This is probably the most space saving item in the whole kit, three products in one. The bronze and highlight are a little more subtle and shimmery then I would usually go for, but this gives my skin a gorgeous natural glow. It also has a diagram on the back to demo where to put each other shades.
Chi Chi Glamorous Eye Shadow Palette – Bronzes, $31.49 – Farmers
I usually change up which Chi Chi palette I take, depending on the colour scheme I want; they are all the same size and have a great selection of colours that you can do your whole eye with.
Chi Chi 3D Magic Lash $25.99 – Farmers
This mascara is great, but pretty standard sized, so any mascara will do.
L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper $19.99 – Makeup.co.nz, (I got mine in Farmers, but it’s not showing on their website)
Another great space and time saving product, its adds volume and hold to your brows. I think Maybelline do a version of the same thing.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream $16.45 – Farmers
These lip creams are really easy to apply, soft and moisturising, and last quite well. I used the shade ‘London’ in the video. Again, this is a pretty standard lipstick size, so whatever you want to take will be fine. I tend to mix it up depending on the look I’m going for.
